Kaan W
I have 2 turbosmart wastegates I'm wanting to clean up a bit before they go on the new engine and was after a bit of.advice. The top caps that come off would need a paint but whats best normal high temp, powder coat? Also the cast body itself had gone a bit brown would I be best just cleaning this and not painting? Lastly I know they have springs in but are they likely to spring open dangerously or am I fine just to undo whilst holding? Thanks in advance
Pig
I believe they spring is pretty strong so exercise caution.

I could use a G clamp to remove and refit but are they quite straight forward mechanisms or will I have a hard time putting it all back together? I really don't know - Sorry. My spring was replaced on an old one but not by me and I was told the top or spring went flying across the workshop

What would be an ideal paint to use on them?
