Not quite Carlos.

 

You tell it what the maximum acceleration of the engine is whith optimum traction. Then if the engine accelerates faster than that, then traction control is applied by reducing fuel/retarding ignition and cutting both fuel/ignition. You can also tell the ecu how quickly to apply the traction control and then how quickly to resume back to normal.

 

It's quite trick really and pretty much identical to the system used currently on F1 cars (although they don't bother to retard/reduce fuel they go straight for the cut)
