Boosting Issue

Recommended Posts

Got problems. Was on my way to Reading last night, had my foot down at a nice easy angle and then suddenly the power dropped and i heard my Bov dump air. I thought maybe i had just moved my foot enough to lower the boost to dump. But when i put my foot down again nothing. I get about 4psi and it sounds like the Bov is constantly realising air when i put my foot down. There doesn't seem to be any hoses undone or leaking. I can't think why it's not working properly. It's also holding in gear longer for some starnge reason.

Your gearchange , might be caused by worn bands in the box, i hope it aint but thats what was worng with ours we changed it the other week and it is now fine.

your boosting issue we might have the same prob.

Sounds like an IC pipe has popped off. Do you have a boost gauge?

I thought it was this to start with, but i coudn't find anything undone and i shouldn't be going on boost at all should i?? It's reading a max of 4psi on the boost gauge when my foots down.

I hope it's not too Andy. I'm just too tired at the moment and just think im gonna hand it over to a garage and tell to do there best.

IM STUPID STUPID STUPID

As Matt pointed out, it was in IC pipe. The throttle body IC conection to be exact. Checked them all except that one and i was just standing over the engine thinking there was nothing left to check when i noticed the lip of the Throttle body looking back at me, DOH!!!!

All good now, just need to sort myself out some proper clamps :D

The same pipe keeps going on mine, What FMIC and hardpipe kit do you have James?

On mine the hardpipe from the throttle body (IC pipe no.5) to the one that goes from the FMIC to pipe 5 (strangle called IC pipe no.4), is forced about 0.5 inches lower than is ideal due to some pipework from the PAS cooler, or air con (not sure what it is yet...) getting in the way. Do you have any problem with this?

I'll try and take some pics tomorrow....

Mines a Greddy 2 Row, and yes when i put it on it didn't feel like it was gonna fit properly, but after a bit of pushing and squeezing it was on. the one your talking about came undone on mine when i was going to pod for Japshow. I did order some decent clamps from a garage in Sonning but they never called me. May pop over there tomorrow to see if he's got them yet.
