How much HP?

You should make real good power if you can wind up the boost.

The stock turbos will not last long at the 1.5 bar you ran yesterday *cough*!

I think upto 450hp is not unreasonable.

Gaz.

Someone been talking have they :blahblah:   :taped:

Think i will have the boost set at 1.25bar maximum. Dont think i will keep it at 1.5bar

I thought Jspec tubbies weren't supposed to be run past 1.2 bar. Don't they fail fairly quickly after that point? I am considering running at 1.0-1.1 bar eventually. I wanna go single eventually, but not for the next year or so. I need reliability until then.

There not supposed to no.

I ran mine at 1.3 bar for 22,000 miles hoping that I could justify fitting a single when they blew.

I got fed up waiting for them to blow and fitted the single anyway. :innocent:

lol and I was worried about getting near 1.2 bar! I guess over 1.2 bar maybe it's a bit pot luck as to when they blow up. Did you drive it hard at 1.3 bar a lot, or were you often lightfooted/running less boost?

I'd be happy with 22k at 1.3 bar, by then I'd probably also be ready for (or not be able to resist it any longer!) a big turbo upgrade!

:woot:

Me? Drive it hard? Never! I only ever stuck my foot down whenever I could, and I did one or two drag days with a guestimated 40 odd runs and a few top speed runs for good measure.* Even tried a few runs at 1.4 bar but it didn't really make any difference. ETTC spiked at 1.5 bar a few times.... No, I think I took it easy really ;)

*Hasten to add that during the top speed runs, I used to run the first 1/4 mile at 1.3 bar than reduce to 1.1 as the EGTs were climbing high by that time.

Yeah I ran 30k @ 1.3 ragging the nuts off it. Do watch the EGTs though guys. With stock turbos it really seems pot luck whether they last or not.

lol just a tad hard then. I don't think I'll be going that crazy with it. Right sounds like I need an EGT gauge fitted asap lol, I'll add that to my todo list... I think I'll aim to stick with the 1.2 bar limit, interesting to know that people have been running more for some period of time though!

my last hybrid set up made over 500 bhp. That is a genuine figure, not inflated. I would have to say however that it cost me at least double to do that in supporting mods than it would have by fitting a single. It ad EGT issues too.
