jimojameso
I have a mk5 gti as a daily so i'm on the golf forums a lot. Whilst reading on one of the forums i read the following. Just a heads up for when everyone buys a new set of rubber. http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,50507.0/topicseen.html "The new legislation and the tyre labelling system means they wont pass the minimum criteria so dont go buying a new set if you dont track your car! Think R1R's will still be fine" Plenty of alternative rubber to try though: - Bridgestone RE55 - Bridgestone RE11s - Conti ForceContact - Dmack TrackDay - Dunlop SportMaxx Race - Dunlop Direzza 03G - Falken Azenis RT-615K - Federal FZ201 (new 2012) - Hankook TD z221 (new in late 2012) - Hankook z214 (almost slick) - Kumho V700/V70a - Michelin PS Cup/Cup+ - Pirelli P Zero Corsa - Pirelli P Zero Trofeo - Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R (new) - Yokohama A048R - Yokohama A050 (new)

Please show me where they're cheap i'm keen to see When they first came out they were cheap by comparison, not so the case these days They are a great tire although easy to overheat on a MKIV.
