hagar
i have a mk3 i am currently rebuilding and i have changed the inlet and exhaust manifolds and this has left me with a throttle cable that's too short by the time it has avioded the new turbos and got to the new throttle flap. the cable has the same ends on it as a land cruiser but that is only 3 inches longer and i would like a cable a foot longer. i have been told a toyota camry cable will fit but i don't know the lenght of it. the original cable is 51 inches long and i would like a cable about 60 inches long. the nice people at mr T ordered in a landcruiser cable and said they would sent it back if it's no good but i cannot see them doing this for every cable i suspect it is right so i was wondering if anyone on here has changed manifolds and had the same problem (in a right hand drive car, of course). merckx
I would see if I could get one from a motor factor or good car accessory shop where they'll have diferent ones on the shelf to choose from, there're universal throttle cables on Ebay. Or a car salvage yard.
hagar
i think we are going with universal now i have examined how basic the connection to the pedal is!
