mikeyh
ive just picked the car up the missfire know seems worse is it possible if the boost controller is hooked up wrong to cause all these bloody probs i just want to enjoy the supra again
Steve
Did you change the spark plugs to a colder grade when you did the decat? When were they last changed?
absz
don't think the pluming of boost control will cause misfire. most probs plug related.
mikeyh
ive recently changed the plugs i was told to fit pfr6j-11 they are ngk.the same as what are fitted as standard apart from these are platinum. would this cause this problem if running full decat
Jake
Hang on, you're the guy whose car is running a HKS FCon V, right? Was this mapped before or after the decat?
Steve
I would change to a colder grade plug if you have a full decat. Try NGK BCPR7ES plugs from a motor factors. Get them gapped to about 0.85 They are about £12 for all 6.
mikeyh
she was already mapped and decatted when i got her.but since owning the car ive had to put another engine in it ever since this nothing but bloody trouble cant solve the problem

mikeyh
no its going on the rollers 1st of august at engine advantages but they dont have the software to remap the hks yet.i used tdi last time but they took some comments the wrong way on here and think ive mucked my chances up with them. abbey motorsport cant remap the fcon v either any ideas who can
Jake
You're using an aftermarket ECU that was mapped for one engine on another engine? There's you problem. Why's it running a FCon anyway? What other mods does the car have that it requires such an exotic ECU? Does it have larger-than-stock injectors? Non-stock turbos?
Homer
Mikey, I thing its best if you explained in detail why your last engine was replaced and the full spec of the new and previous engine. It does sound fueling related though - what fuel pump and injectors do you have, has the fuel filter been replaced, has anyone checked the ecu map since the rebuilt, etc... Steve
I would get it remapped ASAP before you knacker your new engine.
Jake
I would get it remapped ASAP before you knacker your new engine. Seeing as it's pretty much standard I would save put it back to the stock ECU. Much less grief in the long run.

Steve
Might be worth sending a PM to one of the traders Vortex, Miami GT or Envy just to confirm this. I am no expert.
