CJ
I use Mozilla exclusively. Can I therefore delete IE off my system or will it affect other programs such as Outlook?
RedM
I heard that Microsofts windows update pages don't work right with Firefox. Will try it later but I guess keeping IE would be good for 'difficult' sites.
IDO
I am mac based, Mozilla was my pref but now using safari as it works better with the newer operating systems.. would still keep IE... (just hide it away!) as someplaces must have been designed on and viewd on IE, so for the odd site unless you have IE you can't get the form fields etc.. michael
I find that some sites still don't work 100% with Mozilla so I use IE6 as a backup
stevie_b
I'd say keep it. There are some sites that just don't work with Firefox.

penguin
i dont think its possible to uninstall internet explorer anyway, since its a core part of windows.. i.e. windows explorer/internet explorer, bla bla bla

Shovels
Afraid you can't uninstall it. I think Microsoft went to court over this whole saga because other companies said that MS were forcing their software on people as you have no option but to have it. Totally agree Firefox is soooo much better
Matt Harwood
What advantages does Mozilla (or whatever) offer over Explorer? Or is it just an anti MS thing?
RedM
Tabbed browsing. You don't notice how useful it is until you go back to IE.

Todd
Bit of light reading but yes it can be removed http://www.stopie.com/removingie/ I removed it when I used ME & 98 but tbh the problems you get with not having it far out weigh the benefits.
