Stock induction how good is it.

Some heat-reflective aluminum tape can help the stock airbox stay even cooler. Cost less than £0.50 (roll was from Poundland, the first point of call for the discerning tuner )

 

This is the Apexi mine came with (the one with almost 1/5 the surface area of the stock element)

Maybe others are bigger, I don't know. In any case, preheating the air before entering the intake is not my idea of enhancing performance (might be good for some diesels though)

I would gladly run the stock airbox with my T61 but alas there in no room. The bigest obstruction for me is the MAF sensor which I am still using so the size issue of the outlet is irrelevant in my case.
