Kev_A
Further to my original thread regarding my claim against a builder for repairs to my TS II front bumper, the claim (after nearly 9 months) has finally went through after the builders' insurer trying absolutely everything to get out of it. Now, the bodyshop that are doing the work decided a replacement would be better than repairing my existing front bumper (lazy gits just want an easy job I think) They booked my car in then rang 2 days before I was due to drop it off to say that the bumper had not arrived yet, I decided to hold on to the car as I didn't want it sitting round a bodyshop collecting dust, 2 weeks later I got the call to say I could drop it off, took the car in and got a courtesy car ('09 Pug 206 ) They rang me the next day to say they'd stripped the old bumper off and trial fitted the new one and they were not impressed with the fitment at all (surprise surprise considering it's a fibreglass replica) and could I come and have a look, went up there and sure enough it was a mess, my original replica was a bloody good fit, nice lines all round etc. but this one didn't sit right at all (no idea where they got it from!) and it was a facelift bumper so had the larger cutouts for repeaters and indentations for side markers. They agreed to speak to their supplier and get a better one. The new bumper cam today and once again they rang me up to say it wasn't a good fit and could I o up again, sure enough it's not right and it's gonna take alot of work to put right. He almost tried to back heel the job and say they were just a "standard" bodyshop and that I should contact the insurer to take it to a specialist, but tbh its taken me 9 months to get this far, I just want it sorted! They asked if I knew somewhere I could get a good fitting replica, I said I'd look into it over the weekend, I contacted Knight racer, but he says they're in the middle of making a new mould as the old one had warped from so much use, the soonest they could get one to me is 2 weeks! Which to me is too long to wait, my Supra has been sitting in that place for nearly 2 weeks now! Anyone have any suggestions for suppliers who can supply me with a good fitting replica TS Type II front bumper replica that will fit, and sharpish! Cheers, Kev
