Warning light when brake pedal pressed

While driving yesterday the big red light in the centre of the dial came on. I pulled over, checked all the doors, boot and handbrake etc but to no avail. After stopping the engine and restarting it the light is off but comes on and stays on as soon as the brake pedal is pressed. The brake fluid was on max so I have topped it up so it is now slightly over max and the light still comes on as above. Disconnecting the little sensor on the fluid reservoir makes no difference. I didn’t check the error codes as it was starting to get dark but I will check for a code as soon as I can. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? The car drives and stops fine.

The dash has been out in the past but not for over a year.

The connector that plugs in to the reservoir? Would it normally log an error or light up the MIL if it was just unplugged?

Is there a brake pad warning sensor on the supra?

Check if you've goT a brake light out as the symptoms you describe are exactly what I had when my offside rear brakelight bulb died

Ooh yes, forgot about that. Yes I remember same when mine went too.

I didnt think to check the brake lights. I'll have a look when I get home.

i had the same problem ,one end of the filament in the brake light bulb was loose so the

dash light would come when the contact was broken if it went over a bump.
