MikeT
Hi guys, When i put the foot flat down on my Supra twin turbo i get a slight uneveness, almost a judder from the engine but when i feed it in it does not seem to happen, i currently have the car running at just a tiny bit over 1.2 Bar, have upped the fuel pump(Walbro) put in a fuel cut off inhibiter and set that to 1.2Bar and run a 3" Mongoose exaust system. Any Ideas? Mike...........
Jake
Spark plugs breaking down under high boost levels? What plugs are you using and how old are they?
MikeT
Cheers mate, i just run standard toyota plugs, the car was serviced by them about a month ago, part number 90919-01178, any ideas what i should run? Mike
Jake
I presume the car is a decatted J-spec, is it? If so, NGK BCPR7ES plugs will be fine. They're about £10 for six from any decent motor factors. I think someone said that Halfords sell them too.

MikeT
Ye Jake, i think she is decatted, i had to put an inhibiter on her and set it at 1.2 because she was running at 1.2 bar of boost, hence i think she is decatted, there are no other modsd that i can see, the car is a 6 speed man, twin turbo non vvt. Are the vvt's a better car, i have not had this one long?

Jake
the car is a 6 speed man, twin turbo non vvt. Are the vvt's a better car, i have not had this one long? I wouldn't say the VVTi models are better, they're just different. It's a very different power delivery, quite a lot smoother - not such a big kick when the second turbo comes in. It feels slower at first but it's not. I like the extra low down torque but I miss the rush of the second turbo kicking in.
Ian C
But what you have to remember is that Jake had actually got one of the fastest real world 0-60 runs of any virtually standard Supra TT Tiptronic in the world -Ian
Jake
Yes, mustn't forget that. Good point Ian.
Alex
My VVTi when stock felt much stronger than my old 93...but that may have just been down to the old one being knackered lol. I think the VVTi's are an improvement to the stock car.
