michael parker
Took my car into Toyota as my airbag light has been on since i bought it and its beginning to annoy me! Toyota hooked it up to their diagnotics and it came up with fault code 22, though due to it being a j-spec they're not sure what 22 equates to! obviously had it been a uk car they could of just looked up code 22 and it would of told them where the fault was. They tried to reset it, but the light just comes straight back on. Bit of a long shot but, any ideas anyone??????????????

No I don't think the sensor warning is related. I seem to remember reading that if the battery is disconnected whilst the ignition is turned on this can cause the airbag warning light. I'm sure there is a way of resetting it, I'll see if I can find the instructions.
Nic
My memory was almost right See HERE for details of how to reset the airbag warning. In terms of the code 22 warning I would try resetting the ECU first by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. This will wipe any fault codes the ECU has stored, then go for a test drive and recheck fault codes to see if ECU re-registers the fault. BTW I would thank Mr T for all there very knowledgable assistance and get your car out of there before you get a huge bill for doing f*ck all You should be able to sort this problem out very easily yourself with advice from here.
