jackso11
Should they be stuck in place? or do they just sit in the calipers?
AlexM
If you mean the anti squeal springs, they just sit there. If they're tired and not staying in place then they need replacing.
jackso11
no, the clips that sit in the calipers on the top and bottom of the pads.
AlexM
I probably didn't give the best description, but I'm talking about the below. Do you mean something different?

Sandy-m2
they just clip into place. i had a bit of trouble getting them back in and there was a little bit of sticky foam on the back that i removed. slipped back in no probs
jackso11
is the sprung one for the top or bottom of the pad? By sprung I mean a bent bit of metal. One of mine is making a clicking noise when I first touch the breaks, because the pad moves. The sprung one is at the top of the pad, I am thinking maybe it should be at the bottom so the pad is pushed up and has nowhere to move...so no way to click. AlexM
On the linked thread it's on the bottom, it's been a while since I changed mine so I can't remember where mine were. They certainly weren't easy to remove or replace though!
jackso11
mine came out easily, which is why I thought they made a noise. Stuck them back in with trim tape but back the way they came out (sprung at top) which must be wrong. Seemed to stop the noise until I had a good run and they heated up.
