Oil & Filter versus the world

Well I'm finally going to do my own oil & filter change.........usually done by main dealer. Now for the 63 million dollar question.......here goes a big thread. Which oil is best to use and which oil filter.....mkiv.com said use the bigger oil filter of a big toyota something.......my cars a 94 TT auto, looks like Deans. Mobil 1, shell oil, olive oil, toyota filter, coffee filter...........dare I say, Whats your opinion.........................................................................................

Even bad advice is welcome after 3 hours wait, so I'll put my head above the parapet.

 

Halfords Fully synth, standard toyota filter.

Or alternatively, Valvoline Synpower is widely use in mkiv's.

 

The oil change is easy, the filter change is a tad more tricky.    Do a search for oil change on technical and see what that raises.    the detailed procedure was listed in a thread a month or two ago i think.
