Whiteline suspension

Chaps & Chapesses,

I am just off to Australia on Monday, and having read Nic comments on TRD bushes and HKS suspension, I am interested in getting in on the act...

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Whiteline sway bars and bushings sets, and/or the coilovers that they make, as the prices seem to be pretty good... i.e. if my maths serves me right (well actually I lie cos I used a calculator and yahoo finance to do the exchange rates)

Swaybar + Bush set - £235

Spring set - £542.70

Springs and Swaybars - £739.30

The article on their website says they are damn good, but I ned to know pretty soon as I will need to get the order in for when I am there so I can personally get them when I am there.

I know Charlie (B'Have) has the swaybars and bushes- he says they are great and make the car as sharp as a Kart, but if anyone else (CW maybe) would care to comment I would be very grateful. Plus it will cheer up my day I am stuck at work and I had to stand on the train at 7am (London Marathon!)

James

The ARB's are cool, I have recommended them to a few people, I had them years ago on the purple car. The shock spring combo have had problems, Gavin Loughton had terrible troubles with them, as I think did others.

Hmm.... good stuff.. I was thinking mainly about the anti roll bars and the bushings, as it gives me an excuse to tear down my suspension and get it all powder coated :sly: plus at a little over 200 quid, it would seem like a cost-effective way to revive my now 10 year old suspension.

Oh and thanks for that caveat, Terry, and yes Nic I will do a search, and maybe try and get Charlie to let me drive or ride in his sometime soon

i have the full works on mine , execellent , improves handling a great deal .. i have had no problems with them at all. the only thing is , if you buy the springs and you got an after market nose cone , forget it ... the front springs are low. i have a 2 inch clearance from the active spoiler being down ... but overall the are a great setup . i have had to change due to new wheels and body kit . ps. i had 17 inch on at the time , so if you got 18 -19 they should be ok .

Just an update about this. I had the Whilteline ARB and bushing kit fitted at Powerstation in Gloucester (who hold this kit in stock) last week. They did a nice job, though they did take twice as long as quoted, though nicely they didnt charge me fully for labout which was jolly nice of them. I have to say it seems to corner much flatter through the corners, and there doesnt seem to be any negative change in terms of ride quality not crashy or anything. Best of all, a few rattles and squeaks have disappeared!

Then I went off the the US again (for 48 hours, nutter yes I know!, even played a round of golf) and drove to TM engineering in Carson (LA basically) who were unfortunately closed - no problem though as the parts were delivered to my GF in San Francisco and she will bring them over. So I will be fitting these sometime soon.

However I am still unsure about suspension. £1200-1300 is out of my budget, anyone got a suggestion of what would mate up well to what I already have, be bearable on the road, yet stiff enough to enjoy a trackday or two and not break the bank?

Thanks in advance

James, I still have the 3 month old HKS Hypermax II's for sale cheap in the Classifieds section see [thread=39863]HERE.[/thread] I have these on my car and I'm very impressed with the handling and ride quality.
