akallis
I had a replacement engine fitted to my car with turbos and ever since it was fitted the car has never run the same as the original. Its been in the garage a number of times for the problems to be fixed but i am still left with the same problems! The car is stinking of fuel and when you put your foot down it doesnt seem to pick up very well most of the time! Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? And if is it the fault of the people who fitted the engine as it is still under warranty? any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Scarface GTti
I`m no expert but if its not picking up initially then maybe it is overfuelling and flooding it at low revs? which is maybe why you can smell fuel. Is the smell coming from the exhaust or do you have a leak?
akallis
when the car last went in they checked and said that the car is not leaking but it is coming from the exhaust.

akallis
To my knowledge engine and turbos , my last engine messed up because of a water injection unit failure which ended up flooding my old engine!

Ian C
Can I say make sure it's the same engine as you have ECU - i.e. if yours was a J-spec and a UK spec engine with 550cc injectors was put in you'd have all sorts of problems... -Ian
