Rob
Aggghhhh. My supra's been parked up for two weeks, with the fuel injector fuse removed for safety. When I've just tried to start it, all I get is a very loud and quick ticking noise. What's happened? I've got fuel in the tank and it started fine two weeks ago, battery is fine as well. Soonto_HAS_soop
Sounds like the starter motor
RobSheffield
try putting it in gear (if manual) and rocking back and forth. sounds like the starter pinion is not engaging. the click you describe will possibly be the solenoid firing.
tobyg
had to charge the battery, last week with similar symptoms, after 2 weeks not running
Rob
It might actually be the battery, the windows barely opened, and when I checked the receipt it was over 6 years old. Oops.
absz
yeah defo flat battery mate, the ticking noise is the starter trying to engage but not enough current to do so
Paul
Yep, battery. I only left mine for a week and it drained it totally and that's with an 18mth old battery. Had the same symptoms as you before though, recharge sorted it. Paul
