Guest Orca
Hi guys - I'm not yet a Supra owner, but still doing the research. Part of owning a fine car is having a fine garage to look after it - where do you guys in West Yorkshire send your cars? I'm in Bradford/Halifax border, but prepared to travel. Is the "Fast Car Clinic" in Bradford any good?
3LL
what exactly will you need doing to the car your after? if its general repairs etc and engine work etc.. or mot work, there is a garage here in Hull called Japtech. There great, from my own experience. They have time served Toyota mechanics too. they are on the web, google em.
Guest Orca
Yeah, general maintenance work, servicing and someone who can get straight to the point if troubleshooting is required. From experience with other cars, it's always good to have a "specialist garage" handy.

Guest Orca
Thanks for the replies, guys ... I've yet to actually buy my first Supra. I like to have a good support mechanism in place just in case. I had a problem with my first SAAB and after dragging it around a number of garages who pretty much said, "give me a blank cheque and leave it with me ... we'll find the problem somehow" ... I found a specialist garage who took one glance at the engine bay, popped off to get a one-way valve for the vacuum pipe and tightened up the exhaust manifold. Total price ... a fiver! It ran fine after that, stopped the turbo pressure pushing all the oil out of the crankcase up the dipstick and stopped making the spitting noise when warmed up. 'nuff babbling about that car, but a specialist does get to the point quickly and knows all the little ins and outs of the car. Worth every penny if you can find a good one. They mention '4 wheel alignment' on their website, but so do kwik fit and ATS :-/ I haven't used Gordons but lots of people have suggested them as the main place in the area for proper geo alignments, they have a number of outlets and might not offer the service everywhere but AFAIK the one in Wakefield does. I used the place the Mirfield for mine.

They mention '4 wheel alignment' on their website, but so do kwik fit and ATS :-/ Gordon's apparently only do proper alignment stuff at the Silkwood park branch http://www.gordonstyres.co.uk/pages/gordons_wakefield.htm The rest are just your standard, yep the wheels are pointing forward check. I keep meaning to take mine along, but I still haven't!

RedM
I used to take the Supra to Gordons every month for a free alignment check. They do use a laser system and it did seem to make the car feel better but I don't think it's in the same league as those that Chris Wilson would do.
