benkei
Maybe there's TOO MUCH sex education? How are they supposed to 'do it' if they don't know what 'doing it' is? Sex is too public these days, it's on TV, in movies, on adverts (for just about everything) plastered all over the internet.. No wonder kids are having kids when all they see all day everyday is media encouraging them to do so!
stevie_b
I agree with you benkei: I think familiarity (in this case with sex education) causes a lack of healthy "respect/fear" of it (wrong word, but I can't think of a better one). One thing's for sure: we can't put this genie back in the bottle. Once explicit stuff became the norm in the media, I don't think the populace have the will or the power to sufficiently remove it. I was afraid of getting into trouble with the police when I was younger: I didn't know what would happen if I did. Nowadays you see it a lot on T (including abuse of the police by yobs), and yobs in real-life seem to treat it as a rite-of-passage.
