Paul372 Posted January 19, 2009 Share Posted January 19, 2009 hi, the number plate on my car i am thinking of selling and getting another one but where do i start, i ve found a plate that i like but i want to sell mine first but i dont know how much its worth. how do i find this out and how hard is it to swap over reg plates whats the cost roughly i never done it before so dont really know what to do thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ellis Posted January 19, 2009 Share Posted January 19, 2009 If yours is the one it was registered with, you can't sell it. If it's a private plate you can. When you buy a new plate you have to pay to have it transferred to your vehicle - about £80 from memory at the DVLA office. Its really easy. Most plate companies send you the paperwork, you fill in a form at the DVLA (take your tax disc, MoT and V5 in) and they sort it all out there and then. Dead easy.
