Conrad
A friend of mine is looking to buy a new PC for his room and wants to use it as a HTPC. He only wants to use the PC for music, internet and downloading movies etc... He was also on about buying a PS3 or Xbox 360 for playing Pro Evo when the mood takes him. He's not a massive gaming fan but does play from time to time. I suggested getting a decent spec PC and gfx card instead as this would probably be cheaper. As I haven't a clue about gaming myself what do you think is the better option - console or gaming PC? I think PC as you can get cracked games for free, my mate is a little sceptic with gaming on a PC due to problems installing and setting up etc - not 'plug & play' like with a console... Muffleman
You don't need a big spec for an HTPC, just ask justgav (he's a bit of an expert and helped me with mine ) And then get an eggbox360, it is easier for just plugging in a for a blast. You can also then use the xbox as a media centre extender. I have an HTPC under the telly downstairs and an xbox upstairs. That way I can play games upstairs or watch a movie through the xbox but it's stored on the HTPC downstairs Well, I would if I hadn't recently got the red lights of death on the xbox
Beefyblx
I'd tell him to get a ps3 or
bigbloodyturbo
I have a ps3 and a pc both for gaming and personally i use each for games i cant get on the other, for example GTprologue on ps3 is good fun and armed assault on the PC is great but i couldn't imagine playing one on the other if you know what i mean. If i could only have one i would say get the console as its easy to just switch it on and kill a few people over the internet;)
