Hi-fi

Need some advice on a hi-fi system for a property. jen would like to have the stereo in one room but have interconnecting speakers in 2-3 other rooms, ie stereo in the lounge and speakers in the bedroom and office.

What are the available options for this set up? is it a case of just wiring in the extra speakers to the back of the main unit and clipping the cables to the relevant positions of the speakers or are the other options available?

Don't want to be spending much more than £200 really, is she way off the mark with this or is there something out there?

cheers in advance for any info

Not really any good way of doing it that cheap. Best way of doing it is wireless but it will cost a fair bit more than that.

For 200 you could do it with an IPod, an I-Trip and a couple of cheap hifi systems.

Better way would be sony surround with wireless rear speakers. You can buy additional amps for the setup that you can place in other rooms. That way all you do is buy additional speakers and plug them into the wireless amps. That would cost about £500-£600 though.

Professional way is Sonos....... http://www.simplysonos.co.uk/

Works out about £1400 all in but its extremely slick.
