tDR
I know this is a little off topic (Sorry Terry) but is that what was on the laptop screen (EGT's for each cylinder) in TFATF movie when blondie (undercover ccop dude) drives the Mitsubishi Eclipse in the main street race Vs. Vin Diesel in the Mazda RX-7? Just before he flows some more NOS the laptop is screaming danger messages at him.
Guest Terry S
I had a look on http://www.superflow.com but couldn't find anything. Nice dyno's though.

I just need a better laptop... :-)
Guest Terry S
Cheers Chris, now all I need is to find some cheap probes & I am away. The unit is only £125 + VAT which I didn't think was too bad. or what about this: http://www.picotech.com/thermocouple.html#tc08 for £200 + Probes

RS list some K type probes as well.
Guest Terry S
Yeah it does look good. I have been told 3mm probes. I will try & get some part numbers from the RS CD, but I think they sell them for about £15 a piece ( K type). What about the distance of the probes from the head Chris? I assume they will have to be of an identical distance to give a meaningful reading?

Guest Terry S
I am struggling finding an Ideal probe though, so any assistance would be appreciated. I see they sell weld in ones for Aviation purposes. Bit concerned as my last GReddy one melted!

If the 3mm Greddy one melted the engine is either dangerously weak or retarded, or too much boost for fuel octane. Take care!!
Guest Terry S
It was on the old Hybrid set up. The EGT's would go very high just before the transition to the 2nd turbo. Shouldn't have that problem now;) Thanks for the mail.

RedSZ
Minor Hijack alert... Is there consensus of opinion on where EGT probe should be placed? Scanning old posts there appears to have been debates about which cylinder get hottest etc and also scary stuff about probes melting and causing chaos. What's the expert opinion in 2005? Thanks
