Conrad
I wanted to play Call Of Duty on my htpc which doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, just the on board gfx on my motherboard - Asus mobo spec link My system has 4gb Ram and the Intel Core Duo E8400 2 x 3.00ghz CPU As it was probably back in the 90's since I was last into gaming I guess even COD 1 would look impressive to me, but with my spec in mind what is the newest version of COD my system could handle?? I didn't fancy paying for a gfx card in case this whole gaming thing is a phase EDIT: I'm running Vista 64 if that makes any difference.... DamanC
X3500 are poop for what you want. COD 2 maybe 3? Cirtianly not 4 or 5 which are worth playing imo. For what youy have it would be worth to pop a £50 - £100 video card in it

I definitely wouldn't want to pay anymore than that, doubt I'd pay for an up to date game anyhow... (unless games are as easy to get as movies/music with torrents etc..) DamanC
Right, confirmed a Nvidia 9600GT is what you want. As a recommendation; XFX 9600GT 512MB GDDR3. Be prepared to pay £80 thou. If you want to spend slightly less then a ATI HD 3850 is what you want but the 9600GT offeres best bang for buck and will allow you to play the latest games, obviously not in their full glory. Conrad
Cheers Daman... What I don't understand is how I can get the same card but just made by a different manufacturer. Novatech do the card you recommend for £66 delivered. Does it matter who makes it? Or am I looking at the wrong thing?
DamanC
Your looking at a Novatech branded one, in other words, Unbranded. No hardware difference, they are all made in the same place. If you are on a budget then an unbranded would be your best bet. Your paying the extra for the customer service really.
