Where to plug oil temp sensor? sandwitch plate leaks.

Since I installed a oil temp gauge on my MKIV its been leaking oil and I'm really tired of it. I plugged the temp sensor in a GReddy sandwitch plate between the oil filter and the block. I removed the filter and tightened the sandwitch plate twice, and there is still a oil leak.

 

The only solution I can see is to remove the sandwitch plate and use the sensor as the oil drain nut(the nut you unplug when you flush the oil). But I have no idea if it fits? I know the Defi oil temp sensor is 1/8 NPT,

 

Do you know if it fits or have any solution to my problem, what did all you guys do?

I guess almost everybody installed a oil temp gauge.
