Stevo
Well....my morning got off to a bad start when I slept in, was in a hurry and promptly reversed off my drive and hit my neighbours Audi A4 parked directly opposite my drive entrance Anyhow, given the low speeds involved, the damage to both his and the Supe is just cosmetic. I hit his side impact bar mainly, so his is probably less than mine! As a result, I don't want to go through the insurance companies Just wondering if anyone can give a rough idea of what it might cost to have a rear passenger door sprayed on an Audi A4???? Just don't want him trying to pull the wool over my eyes coming back to me with ridiculously high quotes (he's the type that would). Cheers. SupraAyf
Shouldn't be too much Steve - circa 200 quid if you go to the right place. I think it all depends on the age of the car and the colour as you may have to blend parts of other panels to get it to match. I got my car done for 140 quid by a 'pal' in the South if that helps you with an idea on costs etc;)
jonahjones26
depends where he takes it? but my body shop charges £170 per panel plus paint (i get 50% off)
Stevo
Cheers guys. Definitely more than a Chips Away job. The car is only a few years old and is an Audi grey (non-metallic). I have protected NCB with Skye so I'm now thinking about letting the insurance companies sort it (that way mine gets sorted out too). Just need to check what my excess is when I get home and weigh up which will be cheapest route. What do you think?
jonahjones26
depens on excess fella, if you have £100 excess then go for it as you can claim upto 3 times with protect ncb. if high excess the you're going to have to find the cash anyway.
Stevo
Yeah - will get some quotes in then make a measured decision I guess. At the end of the day, I can live with mine for a while until I've got the money, but he'll obviously want his sorted straight away. Just bad timing as I'm saving like I don't know what for spending money for a holiday in Mauritius next month. Have just splashed out on new pads and grooved discs for mine too... JamesC
The thing with this protected NCB is yes you keep your NCB but you still have to put down a claim so your premium still goes up. JamesC - what was that place at Sunniside called again? It's called ASP body. I still need to take mine back for a machine polish! Shouldn't cost too much from him though. i will buy the holiday off you for £200 I'll offer £201, i will also need pictures first!

Last time I got a quote for my sup to be resprayed it was £2500! Saying that, one person quoted me £850 but I thought it must be crap due to the price difference....havene't had it done at all. Anyone else had experience of a full respray price?

Stevo
Got home and have just finished speaking to the bloke across the road. Thankfully he is being pretty sound about it and we've ended up having a right old natter about different cars & what he's owned in the past etc. He's already been to a few bodyshops in the area and the best (which he's willing to go with) is £300. Its going to need some of the door panel pulled out too and maybe a new side strip thingymajig. All in all, I think that seems a decent enough price? As for mine - well, I'll have to see when I get back off holiday in September. Maybe a full respray is closer than I think

Stevo
Ta for the confirmation Gaz. I know at the end of the day that if I were in his shoes I'd want the car to go to a place of my choice too. Lesson learned re. driving in haste whilst still half asleep, having had no breakfast.... mines going into washington body repair centre next week 1200 for full car silver with blue and purple pearl Blimey that's cheap! Are you doing most of the stripping down & prep yersel then?
