marc_p
Ok , so basically I have removed the 22mm bolt holding the pulley on but cant actually remove the pulley, it's almost like it's welded itself on, is there a special way to remove the pulley? Cheers Marc p.s. I did search first but couldn't find anything on this issue.
Jake
I made a Heath Robinson style puller from two bolts and a flat piece of metal. Drilled two holes in the metal and put each bolt through a hole and then into the pulley. Then wind out the pulley bolt against the flat metal, which pulls the pulley off the crank. marc_p
Cheers for the reply Jake, unfortunately I have already tried this using a socket in the middle to push against, but no joy.
Jake
I guess you're going to need a proper puller then mate. You can hire them.
marc_p
Phew, well I just tried it again (with a much stronger bar that didn't bend) and then whacked it like billy joe with a small hammer and eventually it came off. Cheers for the help anyway Jake, at least I knew I was doing the right thing.
