matthewm1965
Hi everyone. Apologies if this should go in the technical section but as it is my first post...... I'm the proud new owner of a '93 n/a Aerotop. I joined this group before buying it to get all the info and the excellent buying guide. The car passed all the buyers tests, so I bought it As with all new cars that I get, I like to give them an oil change to make sure it has decent stuff in there. So armed with 5l of pro S 5-40, I used one of those suction pumps to extract the oil thorugh the dipstick tube. To my supprise, I only extracted 3.5l of old oil. (It had been just below the max level on the dipstick). It only took just under 4l of fresh oil to fill it up to the max level. So either there is something stopping the extration tube going to the bottom of the sump, or the dipstick tube is the wrong length. Anyone any ideas?? Apart from this puzzle, I am very happy with the car. Matt

Dazzi
Hi there, Would be a lot easier to use the sump plug. Edited July 28, 2008 by Dazzi (see edit history)
matthewm1965
Thanks I used the capacity guide, which told me that I would need 5-6 l. Which was why I was supprised that it only took 3.5 l. I think the car is lower than stock, and I'm getting too old to be rolling on the floor hunting for sump plugs. Thats why i thought I would use the extraction tube method.
