Jamil
My current battery goes flat if i leave the car for more than 3 days. Using the search button i have found the battery to get is the halfords HBC 005. I justed wanted to check that this battery is ok if you are not starting the Supra for a week or more? Or would i need a different battery? Cheers Jamil
SteveR
Sounds like your current battery is very fooked or you have a current drain somewhere. I'd investigate before shelling out £80 for a new battery. Have you got a multimeter?

I have got a couple of amps that maybe draining the battery!?
SteveR
Very good point, I havent got a multimeter tho. How would i test to see if there is a current drain? I have got a couple of amps that maybe draining the battery!? Nip down to your nearest electroncis shop, I got a cheapo multimeter for £4 from mine a few years ago. Failing that... DIY shops (usually a rip off). You want to FULLY charge the battery (e.g. leave in a charger overnight), disconnect charger, meaure the voltage, then measure it again say 24 hours & 48 hours later. It should always read 12.6V ish. if it does, check the charging system by measuring the voltage the battery is seeing when teh car is running. That should be 14V ish I think. If, instead of holding charge as described above, it drops significantly, then charge it overnight again, and disconnect it from the car, then measure it at Time=0, +24h and +48h. if it's still dropping the battery may be fooked (check the water levels inside if you can remove the caps along the top). If it doesn't drop you've got a current drain somewhere in the car (are all the interior lights switching off? Is the alarm behaving? Is the stereo OFF and the electric aerial behaving itself, etc etc). 2Amps is a huge drain, what makes you think you've got that?
