_Lynz_
General Sir James Yorke Scarlett wasn't from Wigan. You will notice that I quoted Mike's comments about "pies" nothing to do with General Sir James Yorke Scarlett.

paul mac
Wer hat die ganze pastete gegessen ? do i sense a little unhealthy Germanic interest here, your avatar clearly shows LSSAH SS-Obersturmfuhrer Michael Wittmann and by the barrel markings i would say stood in front of S04 (Russian campaign rather than France) and for DevilsAdvocate i would read Devils Adjutant ~ Jochen Peiper infamous for a rather nasty little incident at Malmedy, see i told you you had an unhealthy interest

paul mac
ahh a kindred spirit, i have read devils adjutant and a lot of history on Her Pieper and allthough limited at the strategic level he seemed to be an excellent combat leader who lead from the front however one cant condone the allegations of "unpleasantness" that seemed to follow him around, i guess it was a different time and he was a "can do" results man who got the job done, my particular interest from that era are the tank men like Wittman and Carius, i would like to visit Wittmann and his crews grave some time, my avatar is nicked from "Panther - The quest for combat supremacy"

use this to convert from Garmin http://rjdavies.users.btopenworld.com/html/poiconverter.html The whole area is well worth a visit, Spa, a good trip down the Our valley to Vianden, or a run through the forest to Aachen. Roy TigerII at La Glieze I'll be paying my respects to Michael Wittmann and his crew at La Cambe in a fortnight.
