Scott
Classic film. Pity I fell asleep for the middle half of it Until I watched it on DVD about a year ago, I had no idea why they told the reporters at the end that the best bit was "the octopus". DVD extras rule Yeah i was the same. I just put it down to kids imagination and assumed they were exagerating what happened lol.

Scott
Might as well tell all here then lol If you get the DVD there are extras that include deleted scenes. One of the deleted scenes shows the kids getting attacked by an octopus. Don't want to waste it for anyone but i dare say it will be on youtube if you want to see the whole scene. Nope, as far as i know it was never shown until the DVD version. Is it possible its been mentioned and you have downloaded the extra or did a search for it such as Youtube? Can't think of any other way you would have seen it other that a goonie related show or something.

Strange as i have seen the video version when i was a kid but don't remember it. Possibly i was too young. Ive never seen it on TV though. First time i seen it, that i remember, was from the DVD extras. I've never seen the other scenes mentioned either.

I never saw it at the cinema, never downloaded or looked on Youtube for it and haven't seen the DVD but I did see it on VHS.

RedM
Well, I've only ever seen the Goonies once all the way through. A very long time ago. Pre DVD and the internet. It either has to be VHS or the Disney version which DOES feature that scene.
juanchan
Yeah i'm the same. Don't know if IMDB is describing the US VHS version though? It is a bit ambiguous isn't it? I definitely never saw the octopus before the DVD though. I'd have been scared by that octopus as a little kid, so I'm sure I'd remember it

RedM
It could have been a pirate copy. IIRC my then best friends dad always had loads of dodgy vids. Best one was Fun With Seka but that's for another thread.
