dangerous brain
Having had a rather heated discussion last night with the other half about a certain aristo being a waste of my time and money just sitting on the drive doing nothing, and the fact that my mr's has never actually liked it coming out, and that she way way way prefered my aerotop supra, and why on earth did I ever sell it (grr bloomin women with short selective memories) I may be considering a swap. Yep I am considering swapping my do-luck T67dbb aristo for an aerotop supra. What level of supra I would get for a straight swap I don't know. Wether or not someone on here would be interested in a straight swap I also don't know but I thought I would post up and see. The car will be getting tuned in and around the middle of May (long story the map on the AEM has been lost twice by me so it is in need of a new tune) Some stats from the sheet I bought it from, I'll update it later as I have to pop out now. Former Do-Luck demo car exhibited at the 1999 Tokyo Auto Salon BL T67 DBB Turbo HKS Racing 60mm waste gate HKS Racing tubular exaust manifold 650 side feed injectors (possibly 800cc units) Bosch fuel pump HKS DIALS/ EGT / OIL pressure and temperature / Boost pressure AEM standalone ECU Apexi boost solenoid controlled by the aem ecu HKS Hi-profile camshaft(256/264) HKS Brake oil cooler Engine head proceed(ported) (possibly) Racing AT ( racing transmission) AAR Leather semi-racing seats JIC coil overs 18" luxor deep dish wheels with brand new 265 40 18 Falken 452's on the back and Goodyear NCT 235 35 18 on the front Full DO-LUCK aero wyvern body kit fitted by do-luck and features still on the do-luck website. Greddy twin SS exhaust with high flow cat (innards of cat are actually removed but as its a 91 car it doesn't need a cat) Polished DO-LUCK centre brace bar HKS FMIC HKS style BOV Custom made screamer pipe Greddy 16 row oil cooler Greddy 10 row auto cooler TRD anti roll bar HKS FPR UK spec Supra 4 pot front brakes Supra rear Diff This car features in the super demo car section of hyper rev magazine (I have the magazine its in). It won awards at the 1999 Tokyo auto salon show. It features on the do luck website in Japan, Europe, and the US of A Have no doubts this is a beast of a motor. Yup I've had teething troubles with it but point me in the direction of any singled up motor from Japan with no teething troubles. Most of the problems have been based around the tune on the AEM (I've had a map corrupted by a wiring short near the ECU and my PC lost another map) which will be sorted out before its swapped. The paintwork needs a bit of TLC in places but bear in mind this is a 1991 car. http://spicyweasel.com/bryan/image-cache/Bryan%27s%20Car/IMG_1140_disp800.jpg http://spicyweasel.com/bryan/image-cache/Bryan%27s%20Car/IMG_1144_disp800.jpg http://spicyweasel.com/bryan/albums/Bryan%27s%20Car/car%20show/ResizeofECTS2007_043.jpg http://spicyweasel.com/bryan/image-cache/Bryan%27s%20Car/car%20show/DSCF0704_disp800.jpg http://spicyweasel.com/bryan/image-cache/Bryan%27s%20Car/thor%20dyno_disp800.jpg http://spicyweasel.com/bryan/image-cache/Bryan%27s%20Car/castle%20donington/gq1h6805_disp800.jpg I especially like this picture because that red 911 GT3 tried to overtake me on the exit of that bend down the straight and got shown a clean set of heels. I grinned like an idiot all the way down that straight. PJ
Get it mapped DB and then use it for a bit and then make your mind up. That's what I'd do.
dangerous brain
Its now apparently too noisy WTF??? Its way quieter than my last one and its certainly no noisier than my old supra was!!! I only sold the supra because she wanted a more practical car. I don't think you can win really lol. That said I myself have not been happy not having a car that the roof comes off of. We even adored our MK3 aerotop despite it having no exhaust. If I could make it convertable it would be perfect I can't see there being a queue forming in a hurry to swap a supra so yeah I'll be driving it around tuned to 1.4 bar (which ought to put a smile on my face after me leaving it to sit the winter out since October)
dangerous brain
Actually speaking more on the topic I think I grabbed the wrong end of the stick with both hands here. What she meant on friday night was that she loved the supra so much and wants one back. She is prepared to put up with the lack of practicality of the car in order to have a supra again. I can see where she is coming from on this as in reality we don't actually go anywhere in it together unless its to a meet or a track day so it doesn't really need to be practical. When I sold the supra, the supra was her daily driver which is no fun with a new born and pram and general regalia. If she had to drive it day in day out with sprogs in tow then she agrees the aristo is the better car for that---- But heres the crux of it, as special a car as it is its just not a supra. The excesive power in it scares her alot as well
