tooquicktostop
How does the Amtico & Karndean Flooring (wood effect) compare to real wooden flooring for price? I have a new home with very cheap laminate through the entire downstairs 50 metres sq or so that I would very much like to replace so the GF keeps telling me

I have a new home with very cheap laminate through the entire downstairs 50 metres sq or so that I would very much like to replace so the GF keeps telling me it all depends on which kind you have fitted, its about the same price as real wood but lasts alot longer and does not need any maintanance like real wood, you can get the beveled edge stuff which looks like real wood flooring heres some pics from the sites Mike
marbleapple
Mkirby, if you can I would advise that you also purchase the .com/.net and other domains idential to yours... Last thing you want is some muppet setting up a porn site on the .com of your .co.uk. You should give house building companies a ring. David Wilson Homes are building tons near me and people with your skills would come in handy Congrats by the way

mkirby
I need some doing in Boro', how friendly could prices be? will always try to do better rates for friends and fellow club members etc as ive told a few others who have pm'd me if you measure any rooms your looking at having done, if there not square or arectangle then try to measure in sections. if you look on karndean.co.uk site and have a look through the types of floor and select woodplank to look at the types you can get and finishes etc once you have an idea then i can give you a better idea of price All the best Mike
JustGav
I'll have a word with a friend of mine, and see who they use and if they would be willing to add you. Most of their work is big house refurbs/splitting into subs or refits. Might be some sort of common ground since they do sub everything out. Only catch, they are based down south. Yeh if you can bud, doesnt really matter if its down south, one of the fitters can always stay down there while he is working and do several jobs at the same time etc Cheers Mike
JamieP
I may be able to help Do you have any brochures yet mike? (good for showing the clients) if so you can send me some and supply and fit prices for the various finishes and i may be able to put some work your way if the prices are right. If like me your prices vary to how many meters you are doing then give me an idea of what area is needed to get the various prices awsell. Jamie. marbleapple
I like the idea of keeping things in the club... perhaps we should have a 'services provided board' and everybody lists what services they can provide at what discount. Never need to advertise for business again

probrox
Do you do wet room flooring including coving up the walls etc? I've been running a disabled adaptation contract and the council we're doing it for just had the budget extended for a further 50-60 in the next year. It's all Altro flooring. Also have several other contracts probably totalling 150 bathrooms a year. All of the works in Suffolk/Essex though. Might have some work at Lincoln Uni in the Summer as well. Let me know if you're interested in pricing.
