Just wanting to know what peoples opinions of them are and that im not missing out on anything. I currently have a linksys wrt54GL that im running the latest version of tomato on which I am very impressed with.

Anyone use anything else? openWRT, hyperWRT, sveasoft?

Not had a real play. At the moment I'm just using it as a test bed plugged into my normal router, so I'm natting twice at the moment.

It seems to offer any feature you'd want, and if it doesn't then there's a plug in to do it.

How can you tell what version has the greater memory?

What's the difference between the wrt54GL and the wrt54G?

I don't have the info anymore, try a search for linksys firmware memory upgrade it should give a compatibility list. Mine (wrt54g v5) is not in it.

Paul, loads of info here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRT54G

Had a play with DD-WRT last night, reverted back to Tomato as I got fed up with the constant reboots. Couple of extra features with DD-WRT over Tomato thou, some missing thou.

Sveasoft is no longer free, there seems to be a witch hunt out for them at the mo!

OpenWRT next :D
