geoffvalenti
Just fitted 4 new yellow bilstein shocks. What a difference it makes! the front ones were knackered (O/S just locked half way down, N/S little resistance) but the difference all 4 have made to the car is pleasing to say the least. Fronts went on fine, just a few things to unbolt. Rears were a bastard, trying to lever the suspension down while getting the shock in or out and putting the bottom bolt in one handed, was beyond a joke. I managed one on my own, then luckily my wife, Melanie, returned from a meeting, and I got her to help fitting the other side, with another pair of hands it went back a lot easier. I was so impressed with her mechanical skills that I told her she can fit the decat pipe on her own tomorrow The car feels so much tighter, none of this rolling around like a boat, or clonking over speed humps. All in all a job worth doing, and something I'd definitely reccommend to anyone with the standard suspension.

RICHARDA
Nice one! Can these be matched directly to standard UK springs or do the srpings have to be uprated at the same time? Cheers Rich
Terminator
New billies are very good, totally transformed the handling on my car too. I can go even faster round corners now with less cut from RLTC.

geoffvalenti
I bought them new from Envy. £528.75 inc VAT & delivery. I dont know whether they match UK springs, I'm not sure if there's a difference with the J-spec. They certainly work well with my std J-spec ones Yeah, Peter, good wife indeed, she puts up with a lot with me and cars

Scoboblio
I'm glad the improvement is noticable.... I was 50/50 on changing the supra's suspension because I don't like the idea of just slapping on someone else's aftermarket product when Toyota spent ages designing and testing. But since the Bilsteins seem to be highly recommended... woooo! I changed the shocks / springs on my old car (Mondeo ) for Koni yellows and they were absolutely superb.... transformed the car and you could nail it round roundabouts with virtually no bodyroll
Geezabloke
Mines done 90k with no obvious probs showing in the suspension department. However would i notice a difference if i put new shocks on? and should the springs be changed too? I was thinking of aftermarket but dont want to ruin the ride as it is still very good even on 19's I take it from the above thread that Bilstiens are standard on the UK? JustGav
Oh.... I've got a set of yellow bilsteins in the boot of the car which I'm hoping to fit tomorrow... With this kind of feedback even more eager to put them on... Gav
geoffvalenti
I take it from the above thread that Bilstiens are standard on the UK? Bilsteins are the OEM performance option on the J-spec. So its upgrading the suspension, but with all the R&D that Toyota did. I see it as a win, win situation. Unfortunately the UK spec got the soft suspension, maybe the same as I've just taken off, maybe different again. I'm sure that someone on here can tell you definitely.
