razza
How practical are these for daily drivers? i.e. is there much room for things like shopping or suitcases/bags, especially if you take the spare wheel out? Anyone got the boot dimensions? Haven't had a chance to look at one in detail yet really so just seeing what options are.
SMiFFAD
They arnt great to be honest. I missed having the back seats, at least with the supra you have the option to fold someone up in the back, with the mr2 two peeps and your done. The front "boot" space will fit about 2 tesco bags in, the backs bigger but i dont think youd get your golf clubs in there, its about 45-50cm's front to back, about the same depth and the width of the car. They are good at that they were designed for, poncing about in the sun or thrashing around a track - a proper "sports" car. If you want to take the dog to the vets or go on holiday with more than hand luggage - FAIL! i believe is the phrase the kids are now useing Having said that i managed to live with mine for about a year as my only car, and i survived! razza
so it would be better to get a second runabout as well then for bigger shops and going on hols...It's about time the missus got a car anyway...
razza
I take it there's no room behind the seats either?
michael
MR2 is fine for daily use, I lived with one as my only car for a few years and had no issues at all. You can fit suitcases in the back, there is storage in the front, behind the seats and the boot is a sensible size - designed to fit 2 bags of golf clubs if that helps give you an idea of size. The Supra wins for visits to IKEA and other flat pack emporiums but the depth of the MR2 boot makes it more useful for shopping and things. When I got the Supra I missed the handy boot of the MR2, obviously we have the back seats but it's not quite the same. Plenty of us have managed weekends at JAE with crates of beer, cool boxes, tents, clothes, washing equipment and so on... if you are good at Tetris an MR2 can be very practical indeed

JustGav
Yeah, not too bad for practically... I've just got one for daily work as well after blowing up the 200sx.
SMiFFAD
I take it there's no room behind the seats either? If you have legs, not much, about enough to fit the t-bar glass in. i had a sub behind one of mine, so you get about 6" gap i spose. The rear boot is nice an deep, which its one saving grace, as the fuel tanks in the middle of the car, unlike the supra that has it, well practically in the boot
