simbasupra
Will be changing all of the Supra's oils soon. Have had a look at Alex's FAQ thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=56684 however am still a bit confused to why you would put in anything but Toyota's recommended grades. Below is what i will be changing, please can you amend any of the makes or grades and give reasons. Thanks. Car Spec - Standard UK TT 6 Speed Engine Oil - Castrol 10W40 Rear Differential Oil - Castrol 75W90 Power Steering Fluid - Castrol Dextron III ATF Gearbox Oil - Toyota V160 Brake Fluid - Toyota DOT 5.1 Clutch Fluid - Toyota DOT 5.1 Coolant - Toyota 4Life Red Also will be planning on going BPU:) in the future will any of these change? AndyT
Drop Oilman of Opie oils a line mate. He's a genius at the stuff. Got all mine of him as recommended by him at a good price too.
edge
whiffin can supply the v160 oil but others use different and cheaper stuff (do a search) I use silkolene pro s 10/50 engine oil and toyota filter and have syn 5 in my diff. Ordinary ps fluid should suffice Clutch and brake fluid just a good quality make. Also same as coolant just change it regular.
juanchan
Silkolene Pro S seems to be an oil of choice - it's in mine now after her service. I also thought Toyota had stopped producing the 6 speed oil and it was becoming ever harder to source it?
Terminator
The advantage of the Rad for life stuff from Toyota, is it changes colour as it begins to loose its protective qualities, from vivid read to red / brown. For the V160 box I purchased Fuchs Titan ATF 4000 from Oilman
simbasupra
Will be purchasing my engine oil in a minute. There seems to be a bit of difference between several sources though. Alex's FAQ thread says Toyota recommend 10W30 for a stock 2jz-gte but he recommends 10w40 or 10w50. Why is this? Also Castrol recommend 10w60 or 10w40 as an alternative. Basically i want to know what is the best engine oil to put in my stock uk tt. 10W30 10W40 10W50 10w60
