Silly excel query

I want to populate a column with a date in about 50 or so rows. I put the original date in e.g. 18/02/08 but then when I hold the corner and pull down over the rest of the cells it automatically goes to the next date and the next date etc.

 

How do I stop this to just put one date in all of the cells?

Scrap that earlier answer. I didn't realise you could copy and paste into multi cells. DOH!!

Its that or if you create 3 cells with the same date, then you can drag it down

or pull it down as normal and then click the little tag at the bottom thats created when you do this(looks like a little square emblem) and select copy cells
