Guys 'n' gals.

Yesterday, a good friend's car was hijacked by way of causing an accident. She's alright, but the poor girl has only had the thing for a couple of months. Please see the below and let me know if you spot anything suspicious in your localities, especially in the Reading area.

Needless to say, if a group of people nudge you from behind in another car, remove your keys when you get out. Scumbags ahoy.

Thanks all, Sam extends her thanks in advance for your help.

Ben

Edit>>> Mods, if you feel this is better placed in Members Only, please feel free to move it. Thanks.

Black New Shape Civic Type R - Stolen 11 Feb

I was driving along the A33 towards Reading town centre today at 1pm, when I was hit up the rear by a light blue mini cooper.

Before I knew it one of the 4 guys in the mini, managed to get past me into my car and drive off, with all my belongings, laptop, mobile, purse etc.

The Reading police have been informed and the mini has now been recovered (which was also stolen, with stolen plates). Some of my belongings were dumped in the mini, which have been kept for evidence.

Apparently the same set of youths tried this twice last night in the Reading/Slough areas. So please beware that this is happening. The youths were aged between 18-22, trendy in appearance, but one of them sopke with an irish accent. The police think they might be travellers.

So if you see my black civic reg BT57, I would really appreciate you contacting your local police station."

UPDATE from Sam

I am absolutely livid that these little runts have gotten away with so much over the past day. Thank you all for your replies, and please be vigilant (not to be confused with Vigilantés ;)) out there. These guys are armed with knives and have put a pedestrian in very grave danger.

I'll pass on all your best wishes to Sam. :)

Hi everyone.

Car was found at 1am this morning in coventry, a complete write-off.

It was used as a getaway car, whilst two of the youths forced their way into an old man's house and robbed him. They lost control in my car, hit a pedestrian (who is fighting for his life in hospital), rolled the car several times and ended up in a ditch. They walked away without a scratch, typical!

Apparently I was the 11th victim in 12 hours, they are definately irish travellers, who are targetting the Reading, Slough, Coventry, Birmingham & Surrey areas, so please take care. They've also used knives on some of the victims, thankfully not on me.

My car is now in a garage in coventry, impounded following forensics checking it out. I still don't know yet if all of my personal belongings are still in the car. The police have my laptop, blackberry & camera, which was dumped in the mini, which hit me, but the rest I don't know about yet. So the b**stards could still have all my personal details, including home keys. I've cancelled everything and getting locks changed tomorrow.

Thankfully as this was just a car, it can be replaced quite easily, but I still feel really violated and the whole thing was quite traumatic.

I met with the Reading police again today to try and identify some of the guys who are doing this. But please warn everyone you know, as they are still out there and if they can do this to 11 people in 12 hours, then god knows what else they are capable of.

Yes, she's covered dudes. They pushed her out of the way to get passed her and there were plenty of witnesses present. Broad daylight, faces completely exposed - these people have absolutely no regard for the law.

They were on a 12-hour spree and she was really lucky to come away unscathed.

Do be wary on the road guys. You might not think it would happen to you, but it really could.
