uzthedentist
Fitted the D2 8 pot fronts with the sport pads, there are 3 grades ; street, sport and race, ill try these out and see whether theyre ok or its its going to need better pads. pedal feel is nice and firm, slightly firmer than the uk's but theres not a great deal in it. Im still bedding these in so I cant test these fully yet, Ill do a street review in the new year and track review when its a bit more sunny! I couldnt get the rear discs off as they were bloody stiff so te back ones will be fitted in the new year these are the 356mm(14 inch) version here are some pics to see for the mo http://www.uzmanulhaq.info/d28pots.jpg http://www.uzmanulhaq.info/d28potfittedfront.jpg http://www.uzmanulhaq.info/d28potfittedfront2.jpg

uzthedentist
tested these today after bedding in, still have the rear UK specs in so there may be even more of a difference with the rear 6 pots. The warmup on these is actually a fair bit quicker than on the UK's. Im currently using the 'sport' D2 pad. There are also 'street' and race' whithin a couple of KMs you get 95% of the braking performance you'd want. Wheras it takes a lot longer with the harder pads on the UK spec. The pedal feel is nice and firm and after 8 test runs braking down from X leptons there was no perceivable change in the pedal feel, wheras my uks used to become pretty spongy at that point. Only criticism is in the wet tonight on hard braking I locked up the brakes a few times (No ABS) which didnt happen on the UK's could just be something to get used to I reckon but will have to do some more testing to see. all in all pretty impressed with these brakes in a street application. Ive yet to try them on the track but its too wet at the moment.
imi
thx for the feedback......so no need to change the master cylinder or anything else in the braking system other than the calipers?
Chris and Alana
thx for the feedback......so no need to change the master cylinder or anything else in the braking system other than the calipers? I always wondered if you fitted the D2 (or any other type for that matter) 8pots on the front and 6pots on the rears if you needed to change any of the other brake components like the master cylinder incase it can't push enough fluid etc.
Robbie
Have you any idea of the weight saving per side over the uk spec brakes?
