Top end is al the cylinder head gear bud. Loads of bucks for it all. :)

whats in a Stock 2jzgte rebuild kit and can i get them from Toyota?

I'm a bit confused about this thread, what are you wanting to buy exactly?

Are you talking about the engine overhaul kit? If so, this basically consists of all the gaskets and seals needed to completely rebuild the engine (ie. no mechanical parts). Toyota sell 2 kits one for a complete engine rebuild that contains everything and a valve grind kit, which just includes the seals and gaskets to overhaul the head.

See EPC images attached.

yea me too, basically my supra blows white smoke on start up, its smoke not condensation. i thought id put a rebuilt kit through it so i know that the engine is in a1 condition and there are no probs with it, kind of like it having 0ks in the clock. iam not sure about rebuild kits and what they consist of. some1 has said there is a bottem end and a top end and now u say something else lol.

Your first post didn't explain what the problem was, which is why you have received mixed information.

From your description it sounds like the valve stem seals are leaking. This is a common problem on older engines, but I would get the car looked at by a competent garage first to confirm that this is the cause.

If it is the stem seals, these can either be replaced with the head in situ or by removing the head completely.

If they are replaced with the head in situ, then you would need new stem seals and cam cover gaskets. If the head is removed then you would need to buy a valve grind kit (see image below), this includes all new stem seals, cam seals, gaskets, etc. needed to rebuild the head.

This is not going to make your engine as good as new again, but if it is the stem seals that are leaking, it will stop the smoke at start up.

The only way to get the engine as good as new again, would to get it completely stripped down and rebuilt, which is going to cost you big money.

awesome that explains heaps, cheers. will valve stem seals make the car miss at all and loose any performance? and installing the valve grind kit would be the way to go then if the valve stem seals are rooted i take it. is there a part number or kit number for the valve grind kit?

Leaking stem seals shouldn't effect performance, it'll also do no harm driving if they are leaking slightly.

I can supply the kit if required, price would be AU$318 including postage. This is the part number for the kit.

04112-46056 Valve grind kit
