  1. No mate. What I got told was that speaker wire was used for the engine loom sensors etc. And yes the Syvecs was installed along with all the sensors by Whifbitz I’m afraid to say. [emoji20][emoji17]

There's no way we would use speaker wire for anything on a car apart from speakers, have you got any pictures of the wire that was used?

  2. So went to MB to look at the car and have a chat. So the wiring for the Syvecs to the sensors were all basically speaker wire. The way the map sensor was fitted is what caused the initial problem with the 5v fault on the Syvecs is what cause the problem. This is actually really frustrating considering how much money was paid for the work.

Getting the front brakes refurbed with all new pistons seals and fitting kits.

Also changing the injectors to some Siemens Deka 850s I think.

Looking forward to getting her back. :)

Are you saying we used speaker wire to wire up a Syvecs? Sorry but thats not the way we do things here, must have been someone else who wired that up?

  3. I had whiftbitz coils on my BPU, also failed.. After 20000kms of usage, fine cracks. had a misfire on boost.

Replaced with an old set of OEM which had alot of cracks, no misfire.

Eventually put a new set of OEM, even better..

Did you contact us about the issue? We did have a bad batch so would have exchanged them under warranty.

  4. We had a set of Whifbitz super spark coil packs fitted just before Dragonball 2014 and as soon as we put it on high boost (1.8 bar) the car developed a misfire at 5000rpm. Luckily Lee @ SRD was on the trip and had a new set of OEM coil packs in the boot of his car, fitted them and never looked back. Still got them fitted today and had zero issues.

Maybe Whifbitz have upgraded there coil packs since then!

We had a bad batch Chris, its been sorted since then.

  5. If you don't mind me asking, with the link G4 setup you do, is it as simple as plugging the ecu in and then a few wires need to be relocated a bit like how the emanage ultimate is setup or is it a little more involved? I'm desperate to get away from the emanage now. I'm comfortable doing the wiring if needed but just wanting an idea of what needs to be done with it. :)

No, its much more involved than that, for an extra cost we can supply a wiring diagram with it though or even better a pre terminated wiring loom which you would need to then wire into the ecu loom.

  6. Evening all!

I've currently got an emanage ultimate as a piggyback on my car and it's causing me grief that I just want rid of it. I've seen there's some ECU's which can be used for controlling the auto box which seem to be £2k+, little steep for me unfortunately. Is there a way to use a standalone ecu like the ECU master black with the auto ecu still in place to control the autobox, effectively just removing the engines standard ECU?

Is this possible or has anyone done something similar?

    Cheers :)

We normally fit a Link G4 Storm as a piggy back leaving the stock ecu controlling the gearbox, so its effectively stand alone apart from the gearbox control. We can do the Ecumaster Black like this now, we've just started fitting them. But they do need hardwiring in so its time consuming to fit, about 3k by the time you buy the ecu, sensors, labour to fit and map.
