  4. not yet! Possible that the timing belt slipped and is out of line. It happen right after the above incident. WOT auto gear stick pushed by me in N revs shoot up. Sudden change in load may have caused it ? The car runs rough. lumpy idle, lumpy acceleration. The ECU cuts out the ignition at half throttle. So cannot boost at all. It feels like its in SAFE mode.

  8. I think I am being thick! I can't see a cat light. Just checked the manual and the car no cat light? Its a UK spec if that got any thing to do with it
  9. Hi- ye the cat gutting idea sound good if I have a spare set- So now ill be searching,. which light will aluminate when the cats get hot?
  10. Gutting sounds interesting but I don’t want to damage them for MOT time. What’s this cat heat thing? I suppose it gives you a warning when cat temps become to high. Just thinking would it be really necessary, as I don’t thrash the car. Just the odd Power Run now and then So far the thoughts are that its OK_ as long as I don’t thrash the car so the cats heat up
  11. From my previous post- I wanted to know what people think about raising the boost with the cats in!. Cash flow low at moment so no chance of a exhaust and decat for me! YET Is it OK to raise boost to 0.95 bar (3RD) approx with bleeder as I like the extra power. Just got the car so don’t want is to F88K UP What’s your thoughts?
  12. Thanks for the offer sounds very tempting but will be in 1st-8th so will miss it. this forum moves fast!! Any ideas on where to get a set of plugs today! from a store or something- or is it mail order? OWW ardasaliah! Was yours the 3.6M5 or 3.8M5- shit I remeber you from the M5 board- How weird!!. Hope alls good!
  13. Just become proud owners of a UK spec Sup. Love it. This is after selling my beloved e34 M5 3.8. I know your views on BM drivers- I agree. I think of my self as different, as the car I had was a cool classic- but compared to the sup performance wise, the supra comes 1st every time Hopefully I will learn a lot from this site and be able to come to some of the meets etc. It would be nice to see some BPU car as mine is stock apart from the boost gauge. Anyway to my point! I know searching is the key etc. But I just need some advise. My cars stock boost is around 0.7bar, which is about right as Toyota claim it should boosting between 8.8psi -10.8psi The problem I have is that when I raised the boost by bleeding off some air from the Westgate- now boosting at 0.85 0.9bar. The car hesitates at the higher revs. Boost is stable no smoke no engine light just power seems to come and go very fast. This however does not always happen I have read that it could be the plugs????????? I know a decats in order to help the cat breath but this was just a demo run to see what kind of performance gains raising the boost by 0.1 bar would have and I was very impressed So what are you thoughts on this hesitation?
