  1. That's the same LED, but Mark has flushed yours into the dash blank.

OK, now I need to check a new G5 alarm in case they've changed things, but I wouldn't expect more than 2 volts. I'll get back to you on Monday if that's OK...

I assume all the rest of the alarms functions work alright? - Locking, alarm chirps etc?

  2. I'm not really into stirring, so I'll send you a mail tomorrow. I'm sure they're mechanical skills and normal day to day car servicing isn't a problem.

If you get a chance, give me a phone call tomorrow and I'll go into a bit more depth.

  3. Battery back-up is within the siren only.

Going by the description Paul, it does sound like a blown LED. (Assuming the wires haven't been pulled around, in which case it may just be disconnected).

The blanks in the dash are removeable, but not from the front. However, the LED should come out from the front. The Clifford logo is stuck on over the top of the LED. Gently lift the logo plate up and you should be able to remove the LED.

If you have a multimeter, disconnect the LED, pu the alarm into Valet mode, (this should bring the LED on constant), and you should have a reading of 2v. If you have, the LED's dead, if you don't the alarm is at fault.

If it's the LED, let me know and I'll send you another one out, if it's the unit, first thing to try is a power-down reset. Disarm the alarm and then disconnect the battery. Leave it off for a few minutes then reconnect and see what happens.

    Let me know

  4. No, which is why variable vein technology for the turbos is well advanced o diesels. Only problems with raising fuel pressure is particulate emissions (smoke), apparently. I am quite tempted by a modern diesel road car with a bit of tweaking actually....

The unit Ian has on his truck can increase fuel pressure by 25% on it's highest setting. It does smoke on this setting, but nothing too offensive. Similar to an old Sierra Diesel! ;)

  5. The FCD will be mounted very near/under the ECU. Lift the carpet and unbolt the black plastic ECU cover and I'm sure you'll locate it easily enough.

Open up the FCD, inside you'll find two small pots, (dials). The one labelled OB or Overboost, should be set to position B as standard, increase this to C, and it should stop your problems.

Feel free to phone if you're not sure about anything.

  6. Jay, I can't get hold of Pete at the moment, but the choice is yours...

Either, you can adjust the FCD yourself and see if it works, or you're more than welcome to come down here tomorrow and we'll adjust it for you or change it, if it's faulty...

  7. Ignoring all the stupid pub talk power figures, AFAIK, I don't know of any Supra's in the UK that have run faster terminal speeds than Leons, although Dude and CRD have run faster 1/4 mile times.

Terminal speed is a very good indication of power.

  8. My car has the T67 on it and it's mapped for 1.4 bar on Optimax. Hopefully, my car should be ready in a couple of weeks or so, (I'm waiting for a few clutch bits from the states at the moment), and I'm more than happy to take you for a spin.

I notice you're quoting 0-60 times a lot. In honest, I think that's probably more down to the driver to be able to cope with a combination of traction available compared with the level of HP were talking about.

I doubt my car's 0-60 is much quicker than stock because it has so much power it's difficult to stop it wheelspinning in most of the lower gears. I've heard/felt the RLTC kicking in at over 100mph! - And that was in the dry!

It's an animal in the wet ;)

  9. Tom, glad you're happy with the work, we never doubted you wouldn't be :)

Si, you really need to get out more mate. We ALL know you've had bad experiences, but there are decent people out there that do the work they're paid to do, AND plenty more that they're NOT always paid to do. ;)

  10. The lack of lights on the top right dash section is a very common problem. The legs are very easily broken off the board when removing the dash section.

The cracks in the solder can be very small and not too easy to see. It's a fairly simple fix, just requiring a bit of soldering. - Really should be done ASAP

  11. Yep, that's the one...

It's actually only (only!) a V8, but it can now out-run an F250 with a petrol powered, supercharged V10!!!!

I'll get some pictures of it.

I now know that increasing the fuel pressure on a deisel engine CERTAINLY makes more power/torque. Seems to be, the more the engine's under load, the more power it creates. 3rd and 4th gear are now awesome!
