  1. OK, one "ex-trader" was as useful as a fart in a jacuzzi and I'm fed up of the excuses from another, soooooo can all traders please respond with their best prices and availability for an oil feed and return Kit for a single turbo. It needs to be for a T04 based turbo.

Best prices please. This is the last piece that I need to finish my single conversion and I'm pissed that I've waited 3 weeks for nothing already.

    Ta all..

In stock £199 Delivery Next day sir.

  2. Is Jody a qualified mechanic? By qualified i mean 'to work on members cars'

Not sure what you mean, but he is fully insured for parts and work liability as well as test driving. He holds no Formal qualifications no, but there again nor do most fitters who trade on here.

I feel 110% confident about Jody's work and the way it represents my business, his work is far better than mine!

  3. I never Knew Jody was a mechanic:)

Jody does alot of different jobs around the place, he is worth his weight in octane.

Glad you liked the service, we try to open on a Saturday for local forum members to come and chat. Hopefully see you soon for the next stage.

  4. For cruising to and from work, you can expect fuel economy in the low 20s - the best I've had so far was about 25mpg.

Other problems to look out for are valve stem seals (smoky start-up when cold - easily disguised by sellers by starting the engine befopre you view the car), and running overly rich due to a gunked up oxygen sesnor.

Right thats it!!!! I cant keep quiet any longer. It is not just Valve Stem seals, in the vast majoriy of cases it is guide wear. By doing the valve stem seals you are just masking the problem.

If we built a head, but didnt put in the valve stem seals on a 2JZ it still wouldnt smoke at all for a good few 10,000 miles.

  5. The problem with 'roadside' identification is that if someone says they are Fred Bloggs, and there are no powers to detain them (i.e. they haven't there & then committed an arrestable offence) then there's nothing to stop them giving false details when they could be arrestable for a previous offence or circulated as wanted.

The SOCA (Serious Organised Crime and Police) Act 2005 makes all offences arrestable subject to certain conditions, but exercising those powers can be problematic. The system has changed but not necessarily for the better!

So Fred Bloggs is not identified as the correct person and there is no way to trace them if further enquiries are required.

Currently I request an ink fingerpring on the back of the forms or tickets when dealing with people, if I suspect the person has given false details and arrest of the person is not practical or lawful.

This is not much of a change from the ink fingerprint request at the scene, other than the electronic print identifying the person based on previous print records (which are held electronically since the introduction of the Livescan system) and of course the possible recording of prints that are not recognised, though this is unlikely.

I expect a new law will have to be passed if the prints are to be stored of unidentified people (i.e. those that have never been arrested and whose prints do not match a speculative search of prints from crime scenes etc).

    Sure?
