Any reason why you never re used the main caps mate?
Hi Jamie, I had two engines both with Main caps fitted, so have a spare set. The Billet caps are in great shape never had a bearing turn in them.
Hope that helps.
Thanks

Since Im looking to sell my Supra and no longer competing in the Drag racing scene I guess I no longer need my spare engine parts so Im now putting these up forsale
CP Pistons 0.20 over Used SOLD
These Pistons have done around 1000 miles and are in very good condition. I would recommend getting a new ring kit which would cost $140 from the states. These cost around £700 new I’m looking for £395 + £10 delivery for the set. REDUCED TO £295
Sales info: Here at MVP, we have been building motors since the late 1990's. We have used virtually every brand of piston on the market. Through all the testing and different applications over the years, we find CP Pistons to be the best of the best. Although we offer several brands, we strongly recommend CP as the brand of choice.
CP Pistons will give you the edge on your competition. Featuring technology like high strength aluminum forging, super lightweight design, and fully balanced to +/- 1 gram.
CP Pistons features excellent ring seal, higher vacuum, lower blow by, greater durability, and increased horse power and torque.

Crower Rods (matched set 3 used 3 new) SOLD
I have had this set checked over by my engine builder and they have all been checked over and weighed. The used 3 rods have never had a bearing turn in them or been exposed to any extreme heat. These rods would cost you around £1000 new Im looking for £600 + £10 delivery for the set. REDUCED TO £495

HKS 272 CAMS Intake & Exhaust Used SOLD
These CAMS have seen around 5000 miles of use. You can feel some slight score marks with your nail on some of the lobes and journals so could maybe do with a polish or regrind. I took these out my car and they were running fine without any issues. These cams would cost you over £700 new Im looking for £250 £15 delivery for the pair.

Titan Stage 3 Head Used (damaged but repairable)
I have a Stage 3 head for sale that has done around 5000 miles. Some of the cam caps have some slight scoring. These could be fixed if metal was added to the caps and were then line bored/honed in position. The head contains a full 1mm oversized Ferrea valvetrain which is in great condition (This includes valves, springs, seats and locks. This set up cost me around £3,500 Im looking for £700 + £25.00 delivery for the head which could be easily freshened up and used again if you know a good engineering company. REDUCED TO £500 SOLD
Sales info: Our most popular cylinder head. This head builds upon where the street head left off. It is suggested to run a built or prepped short block for this head package.
This is the same cylinder head w/valve seat upgrade that ran in the famous Titan Motorsports Pro Street Tire Supra to 7.94 @ 186+MPH.
We start by doing a more aggressive porting/polishing. Oversize valves are mainstay. The intake valves are 1mm oversize, while the exhaust valves are custom cut 1mm oversize valves for an exact fit and size that yields optimum power.

Titian Billet Crank Caps Seen around 3000 miles use SOLD
They were bored out to suit Standard bearings. They have never had a bearing turn in them and are in like new condition. I would suggest these be fitted to some ones block then be line honed again These cost me £500 looking for £295 + £10 delivery. Having broke 4 standard caps on a 750hp motor I would highly recommend these who is planning on serious power or using their cars for race applications.
Sales Info: We are the only company to produce billet main caps for the MKIV Supra. These are the same main caps used in our 8 second drag Supra and 6 second Pro cars running a 2JZ motor.
"We highly recommend these (TITAN Main Caps) for anyone building a race motor, they are very nicely constructed."

No new plans at the moment may just be sensible for a change and pay a chunk of the Morgage. Still got the Twin Turbo 350z, may build the engine on that if the Supra sells.
So what are you buying next Kev? (Or have bought already?) -
Details of the turbo are as follows:
Sound Performance Swantko Special (GT-45/79) 1.01A/R
GT 45 with 78.3 mm inducer and 1.01 hot side
GT Series Duel Ball Bearing Turbo
T4 Turbine Inlet
4" Exhaust Outlet
5" Compressor Inlet
3" V-Band Compressor Discharge
Water cooled
Spools really fast and is capable of 1100 HP on C16 fuel.
also full boost by around 5500 rpm
Hope that helps.
Thanks

I was running the HKS Hipermax II which were a great setup on the strip and could be adjusted quite quickly for road use. Think these were the ideal compromise. I guess the HKS Drag coilovers would have been better but then I imagine the road performance would not be up to much.
Kev what suspension did you use, im thinking of getting a new set of HKS drag coilovers, not sure what it will drive on the street like though. -
Gutted to be selling the car mate, just reading this thread really makes me miss the buzz of Drag racing! Still toying with the idea of selling the Zed and keeping the Supra but we will see what happens. Santa Pod is just so far and I don't get much time with my new job. Would be nice to see a real ethusiast buy the car and take up where I left off!
Pity you are leaving the scene Kevin, any chance of you coming to suprapod if the car dont sell? -
Tyres were MT Streets with over 1.2mm tread so MOT and Road Legal. Also used Drag Radials which were good for Mid 10's.
No point trying to use road tyres at Santa pod you will just get Wheel Hop and start breaking things. On a preped sticky track lick Santa Pod Slicks or Cut slicks are the best option.
Thanks
Kevin
Dunno mate, looks like a proper drag setup with skinny front etc, cant see it being driven on the street like that, true road car that pulls off a good time should be driven to the strip like you use to, no trailer queens can have that fastest road legal title imo unless driven to the strip and raced.http://www.japdragseries.co.uk/hksr1_2008/huntly_ptm08dj2.jpg

Got them in Stock. Give Gaz a call.

Should be worth a watch as this is the race where I made it to the final in the Supra, but lost by 0.1 of second. It will probably worth watching for comedy value, as I am pretty sure I got Interviewed and God knows what I said under the pressure of the Camera!
Sure I will get a good ribbing by tomorrow morning!
Thanks

Sounds interesting, I would be up for this! Is it indoors or on grass?

Think you have a point there Michael. Big power supras are definatly more cut out for the top speed side of things. There is actually less grip on that track than what there is on most dual carriage ways! As a team I think it would be good to concetrate more on that discipline next year and bring home the points.
If only I could of got some grip on the 1/4 I could have maybe made it into 6th gear and won the top speed challenge. I was already 15mph down on my usual Santa Pod 1/4mile terminal speed.
Indeed, Kevin's 6 points on the top speed run was all it took too, with 10 good cars you should be able to get a few more points in that side of things even you don't score in the 1/4 or handling. -
As usual I left TOTB with mixed feelings. Happy with my 177.3mph over 1000m but was disapointed to leave the event with a broken car. The weather was exceptionally hot and brutal for high powered engines.
Things were just looking up, was 3rd in the overall top speed challenge and was only 5mph of the then leader so decided to go out for another run as I was sure I could find the extra 5mph after doing the 1/4 in 13 seconds on the previous run. Unfortuntly it was'nt to be and it looks like i have at least bent a valve.
Congrats to the other drivers who represented the Supra comunity very well.
I think after 5 years of representing the Supra comunity at TOTB this will also be my last year event. The sound regulations were a real pain and I really feel this event is just not right for high power rwd cars. There's just no traction, the more power you have the less grip you tend to get. Despite trying numerous setups and techniques over the years I still can't get the power down and tend to drift the quarter mile spining in every gear!
Hopefully I can get the car fixed within the next 2 weeks for rotor stock for the next round of the HKS drag series.

Watched it on ITV last night for old times sake. Still think it was the best of the 3 films made, probably because of the supra. The second was a big let down but the third was OK.

Yeah, it was the MAHA dyno. Even with mine, yours and my mechanics arse sat in the back it still ripped chunks out my Pirrelli track tyres. The strapping was also adjusted numerous times but grip seamed to be a real issue.
If I ever take it on the rollers again I would just put some cheap tyres on, I don't care about. Seeing my new Pirrellis destroyed like that was pretty gutting.
Kevin
Was that on a MAHA dyno? them things do run them so hard, the dyno runs seem to take forever and puts loads of stress on the tyres. -
After destroying £500 worth of rubber last time we went on the rollers, I will be sticking to Hub Dyno's from now on.

Using them in my Glanza, nothing high tech with flat head, but they seam to hold up well. Can't beat the CP Race pistons for the Supra IMHO, thats what we use and have never had any problems even after repeated use at 2.5 bar.
Thanks

Just can't believe this, I feel sick... just spoke to Darren last weekend. He was so full of life and enthusiasm and loved his modified cars, could'nt meet a nicer lad.
RIP Darren.
My deepest condolences to both the families.

Its the mobile phone for sure, it was freeking freezing out their last night, took me an hour just to defrost my feat when I got home at 11.30.
Photography certainly is'nt what it used to be they had rigs actually attatched to the car and full portable lighting the guy must of spent a fortune on his kit!
Thanks
Kevin
"Is that a mobile phone in your pocket or are you...."Let's hope their pics come out slightly better than yours

LOL, que the photoshop competition!
-
Got these bearings in my Starlet Glanza built engine and they seam good. However I use the Clevites on the Supra and can't complain about those either certainly take some punishment!
Best get you engine builder to take a look at the crank first then tell you what you need to order size wise.
Hope that helps

We have been told they will be finalised in December and then put forward for official approval.
Thanks
Kevin
Do you have a copy of these rules ? I did see what Santa Pod put out early last year, but it was only proposals, nothing definate. These were basically the NHRA rules, Sport compact and all that stuff.
