  1. i think you know why. if you have been used to driving with TC on you are not necessarily practiced at handling the power and could end up with the back end entering the space of a parked car for example. i'm not saying anyone is a bad driver just advising caution.
  2. yip, you get paid and there is a national shortage because of the rule change so now it is imported from the US. also does anyone remember the case in italy i think of the doctor who pretended that the sperm donors were from all over the place but it turned out he was the only one providing the goods and had fathered thousands of kids!

    Sex in a Supra

2 is nothing! try 3. (sitting that is.)
  4. my understanding of the J-spec is that if it has "snow" lit up then it turns the turbos off hence the power loss in order to increase traction. it can be dangerous to turn off traction control especially in the wet and near other cars ie in town traffic!
  5. XJ220 is beautiful car, but not if you go mad, have more money than sand and re-spray it like this for no possible reason
  6. errm well i first saw them at king tuts in 1990! then about 10 more times up to 1995. so i guess i am a carter-vet! i am now a back row stand older person at gigs but this is my exception (oh and ned's!)
  7. cool - i had tickets for london but sold them when they announced glasgow (can't afford both.) but then they added sultans of ping to london and the less than good the frank & walters to glasgow! oh well - i will be in pain for days come next sunday. waiting to hear intro: "shadows? .... on me lungs?..."
  8. just wondered if anyone on here was a former indie kid now maybe a 30 something and was planing on going to either of carter's final shows in the next few weeks? or maybe you are all too young (or old?) to remember.
  9. yes but if it continued people fine alternatives. remember the petrol blockage - very few people voiced objection because we all found a way to cope and hated the then high prices. prices which were lower than todays!
  10. I got bored reading the post (no pun i promise) but it is clear that the public are not really being put out by the strike. they know you will have to deliver what has been posted and anything urgent is being faxed/couriered/emailed. In effect the strike is forcing users to make alternative arrangements which kills the jobs anyway. It is a bad strategy.

    Tyre Insurance

they never do or they would not exist! also be prepared for all insurance costs going up to pay for the flood damage this year.
  12. well £55k for a red one! i thought they were ALL white as standard, no? http://www.holiways.co.uk/rs200.php
  13. nah, only one ford odd-ball i fancied:
  14. Do you mean gay like a child's definition of gay as in crap or gay as in homosexual? It is so difficult to tell these days what people mean. Either way it is a bit harsh but I did accept it was a moan. The cheating thing is interesting as 1) it is obvious and 2) pointless as the gloating feeling is only any good if it is genuine. Also the whole score chart thing is now a generation apart from todays gamers. Kids today only care about finishing a game (if they care at all) they don't remember the glory of having three initials at the top or the arcade machine. Ahh great days and many 10p pieces spent!
  15. Now this might seem like a childish moan but... it is hard enough keeping up with some of the very obvious cheating in the score front however in certain games where i know i can top the scores, like pac-man, i have very high scores and then when the game ends it has logged me out saying contact an administrator your score is not recorded. Very very annoying. My time ain't free you know. Does anyone know why this happens or is it a good damn conspiracy to keep certain people happy? (Oh and if you want to know where the cheating goes on the golf is a prime example of an impossible score.)
  16. not sure my mechanic looked at it and thought there was nothing wrong but it is quite annoying (especially when you have a passenger and have to turn the stereo down!) it's a uk car so maybe a change of pads might stop it.

    write off

that's right only buy back if you intend keeping it long term as otherwise you will not get your money back once the write off history is flagged up. also remember your premiums are going to go up which might price you out the supra market. sorry. insurance is about making money off you and me and they give low low values as many people take them with no questions and the insurance company makes even more money. if you refuse to settle it can end in court but no one wants that so they will come and go quite a bit. best of luck.
  18. Anyone else have noise from their rear brakes? A sort of clunking as the pedal is pushed, more noticable if reversing. Is this normal on supras?
  19. looks like you figured it out!
  20. no manic miner or horace goes skiing either.
  21. sounds like a squeeze. but that explains why there are back seats, no other use. the worst car ever for getting a flat is an mr2 gen2! when i had one and got a flat rear tyre there was no room under the bonnet where the space saver was and and no room in the boot so i had to leave the wheel hidden at the side of the road and pick it up later in a car with a proper boot! well thought out toyota.
  22. as an ex-solicitor i say go to a good solicitor asap. be careful with no win no fee companies as they are not always solicitors but rather claim handlers. also their fees in a case can eat into the agreed award if any. so no fee if no win but BIG fee if win. this is going to be a big claim and you should be getting a solicitor who will probably bring in a barrister to be involved when it comes to court or negotiating settlement. the expenses of your solicitors are normally included in a settlement but this is where you must be careful to ensure this happens. good luck and keep a record of the amount ot time you and your family now give up to looking after the old boy. (sad thing to have to do but it will help your case - trust me)
  23. erm... i don't agree that this is the worst offence or even close. dizzy driving does not necessarily mean BAD driving.
  24. it makes me laugh watching these films. why so they need to keep changing gear driving in a straight line? why do the people watching the racing need to run from the police?
  25. did it today - the difference in rear noise is incredible. it took just under an hour and i now need a small amount of touch up paint! the reason they looked like rivets is that someone had previously had a go and chewed up all the heads - this did not help! glad it is over and glad the noise has gone. now just need to get a new rear bearing and rear tyres and my car will be perfect.
