  1. wow, what a sight! looks like you really need forged pistons along with the intercooler and fueling sorted out! if you wanna run up to 1.5 boost safely! My first mod will definitely be a boost gauge, i have even got one in my mr2 gt turbo. i have been thinking about getting a 3 pod a pillar, and get a boost gauge, oil temp gauge, but im not sure what to put in the 3rd pod.. oil pressure, fuel pressure, exhaust temp maybe who knows. but oil temp and boost gauge will be pretty handy to have.
  2. Hi steve, thx for the reply, im assuming from what you've said i could actually have a boost controller to release pressure if it goes over 1.2 bar? and that way i would be able to do without the restriction orifices? I gather this would be the more expensive option. does anyone run their supra more than 1.2 bar? or would you need more mods to safely run at a higher boost? I would have to see and hear the Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust before i'd get one installed, i guess i will have to come along to supra meet when the next one is in my area.
  3. How much are the side skirts and rear valance from toyota? i may want to do the same.
  4. Hi Guys, my supra should be docking at southampton in the next couple of days and already i am thinking about Mods. My supra has a standard stock exhaust, and i'd like to put a nice big bore exhaust on there but i've no idea which one! i remember going to JIC a few months ago and test drove a supra which had a tip size of at least 5" it was huge! and sounded great. Unfortunately i have absolutely no idea what exhaust it was.. but from pictures i've seen on the web it could've been the Apexi GT Spec exhaust. does anyone here have a apexi gt spec exhaust? Can anyone recommend a nice big bore exhaust? what is the recommended route when upgrading the exhaust on a jspec supra? I understand that you cannot fully decat a jspec supra, so how far would you go to upgrade the exhaust system? is it true you can remove the first cat, and replace it with a down pipe and keep the second cat? i've heard you could remove the second cat providing you get some restrictor rings? I've also heard that you can get a 2 piece down pipe which will allow you to install the cat back on with ease for the mot? why can you remove both cats on a uk spec supra and you cant on a jspec? what would happen if you did? What work would you have to do on a jspec so you could safely remove both cats? i know the fuel injectors are smaller on the jspec and the fact that the turbo uses ceramic blades. cheers James
  5. Any high melting point greece will do, personally i'd get myself a tub of RED LINE CV2 Synthetic Grease from demon tweaks. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/ Never use copper grease on the sliding pins, they will wear and seaze up in time! only use the copper grease for bolts, copper grease should only be applied to the backs of the pads and the aint squeal shims
  6. Cheers Matt, I will be in touch in the next couple of days.. I have been informed that my Supra should arrive Southampton around 18th Sept - give or take a few days. then Transported to Canterbury where it will stay while it under goes conversion, SVA, MOT tests and registered. I believe Canterbury is around 20 miles from Maidstone. So i guess you would be ideal for installing the Clifford alarm, and its reasuring to know you own a Supra as well! James
  7. Does anyone happen to have Matt's contact details? I'd like to make some inquires regarding the Clifford Concept 600 and perhaps the intellistart.. I've no idea when my supra will be in the UK, but its been out at sea now for the last 2 weeks, heading to the UK! I think it will be another 4 weeks before it docks in the UK.
  8. So what you're saying is, providing that the intellistart or turbo timer isnt operating, then the system is still thatchams approved, but if intellistart or the turbo timer was running, then the certification would become void during the short period while is was running? Hmmm just try and explain that to the insurance companies lol. its madness!
  9. So who is Matt Harwood? who does he work for? As much as i like the toys on the intelli start system, i believe it invalidates the thatchams approved certification, so do turbo timers and blackjax isnt this the case?
  10. I thought it was the best cat1 alarm on the market, from what i've heard. i've also heard alot of people have had problems with clifford but alot of problems are down to the installer's who's done a crap job and cut corners.
  11. Hi guys, Im not sure if this is in the right thread, but i will be after a Clifford Concept 600 soon as i have a 1998 Supra RZ which is on its way from Japan. I am currently based in the South East, in East Sussex, and i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good approved clifford dealer who is able to install the system. I believe SEXTONS is an approved dealer and they are around 45 minutes away, has anyone had their clifford system installed by them? Cheers, James
