  1. Thats the one, check all the hoses going to the charge air cooler, this diagram attached should help you to locate all the connections.. I think No 4 hose is known to be notorious for coming loose, but check them all..
  2. its pipe no 2 you should be looking at, at the other side near the battery.. The other bit of pipe over pipe 2 is just a sleave to protect the pipe rubbing on the air intake i think.
  3. jammy git, when did this event take place? any future plans for more perving opportunities? The last girl looks lost, I wonder what was she looking at?
  4. If its seriously loud and you're not getting any boost, im guessing that one of the intake or intercooler pipes have probably come loose..
  5. lol you tart, Kylie and Shania are getting on a bit now you know let me know when you get a pair equivalent to Holly Valance and Christina Aguilera! Would you have any idea how much power the Hybrids Stage 3 are capable of handling? I assume that they will be using steel blades? There are a few pics on the net with a White Supra with some girls sitting on the roof, doesnt happen to be your supra does it? I think the pics were taken outside sextons come to think of it!!
  6. As much as i'd like a set of Hybrids, i also want to decat my supra, buy an aftermarket exhaust, Im thinking about going HKS Hiper racing Ti hope its not too loud for the UK roads lol.. at the same time i would like to buy some defi's gauges, eventually I will also upgrade the induction.. I can think of other mods i should buy before upgrading the turbo.. remember, my supra is completely standard at the moment. I think the fuel injection, fuel pump and intercooler should be upgraded before i even consider a new turbo, unfortunately i simply can not afford to buy everything at once, afterall i've not had my supra long. I do have long term plans for my supra, and eventually i would like to hit around 500 600 bhp and keep the supra somewhat drivable for everyday use! it'll be a few years before i reach this goal cuz i also want a bigger house!! How are you getting on with your Hybrids at the moment Paul? I assume you've made your mind up? or are ya going Single now lol
  7. Hi guys, I spoke to motormall (newera's agents) this afternoon to see if they have made any progress finding out what the problem is with my Supra, they told me that the 1st turbo was only boosting up to around 0.5 bar, and the second turbo wasnt working at all. They told me that they have spoken to fensport and they said that there was probably no point in taking off the cat because it gets soo hot in there, and whatever's left of the blades would have melted with the heat, so they will strip down the turbo's instead. I rang back about an hour later and apparently the 2nd turbo was up the shoot, and there were blades in the cat. mind you that would kinda explain a slight rattle when pulling away.. would it be possible to hear the blades rattle about in the cat? Looks like i will be getting my second turbo replaced! shame they wont be hybrids..
  8. if you know that your pressure tank is working as it should then all you need to do is take the disconnect the pressure line going into the IAVC VSV and connect it directly to the IAVC Actuator, then disconnect the pressure line to the EGCV VSV and connect it directly to the EGVC Actuator, there you have it, TTC.. you could always use one way Check Valves instead which will kinda force the Actuators open preventing the pressure in the actuators from escaping.
  9. The noise is probably caused by the pressure in the fuel tank.. I wonder if you open the petrol cap, the noise stops? This link shows you how the charcoal canister is connected to the rest of the system.. its quite a useful picture actually http://www.mkiv.com/specifications/ncf/ncf93/ncf059.jpg
  10. Are you sure its the charcoal canister thats rattling and not the ABS pump next to it?
  11. That weird thingy is a Charcoal Canister which is part of the emissions, not entirely sure what is it used for and i've no idea why its needed in the Supra.
  12. Great thanks for the picture Ian, I assume you took it yourself, I will have a look into this and see what the VSV for the emissions system actually does, and then see how this could effect my boosting problems! might be unlikely that it has anything to do with it, but we'll see
  13. Thats easy dude, you've welded your wastegate shut! lol.. so how else would you explain a drop off from 1.3 to 1.0 apart from the possibility of the BOV leaking I suppose i was talking bollox, afterall, you can get upto 1.4 + bar removing the both CATS. I always thought that wastegates were sprung shut with a spring that had a pressure limit, maybe not.
  14. How the heck did they manage to measure the boost? did they put additional sensors in the engine bay? if they did, it would be interesting to know where they took the measurements. You will probably find that the reason why the boost drops of to around 1.0 after reaching a peak of 1.3 is because the Waste gate spring is only designed to hold at 1.0 bar any excess pressure would be released... but then i could be talking bollox, after all, im only a software engineer!
  15. Obviously I guess its not the kinda thing you look for until you've got problems with ya car Looks like no one else has any ideas what it could be either... strange cuz at the tip of the tube there's a little bulge around the rim as tho a rubber hose should be connected to it..
  16. The arrow (1) shows the location of the outlet or inlet, and arrow (2) shows the direct in which the pipe disappears to...
  17. Yep me again! been busy this morning! well i've fixed the Traction control then i started nosing around in the engine bay and i've found a metal pipe near the oil filter which disappears towards the pressure tank area... see attachment.. What the heck is it? whats it for? and more importantly should i have a hose which connects to it? Cheers James
  18. Arrrgghhh! after taking the dash off again, and 45 minutes later i found the screw driver in the tool box!! geez! thanks for the help guys.. sorted 2 problems this morning!
  19. I'm not going to replace the coolant until i know whats going on with the second turbo, but are you saying that i dont need to take the plastic under tray off to turn the drain cock on? i've already got the pipe, just dont know how to access the tap to train the coolant
  20. Ah ha! found the connector, Matt H, gis Simon that slap I've connected it and its working now!! Yay! you're right about the dials, it was a pain in the arse to get out! now i've lost my flipping screw driver!! Arrghhh!!
  21. thanks Michael, thats gonna be very useful! im having problems removing the panel thats held in by 5 screws! does this clip off? I have noticed however that there is no able going to the Traction Control switch!!! where the hell is it? Is it true that Traction Control come standand on all Twin turbo supras?
  22. Hiya Ben, thanks for the reply, I have never seen these buttons illuminate, i didnt know they did. i never saw them illuminate when i was driving home in the dark... Think it might not be plugged in correctly? Sounds like there's going to be slap heading Simon's way at Sexton's from Matt H.
  23. Cheers, looks like i am going to have to remove the panels after all!
  24. Sorry for being a pain in the arse this morning but since its fine day today, i want to sort out all my little minor problems.. I've already sorted out the wing mirror, now im going to sort out the problem with the traction control and find out why i cant turn it off.. so I want to disconnect the Traction Control/Snow button on the driver's dash, and see if they were replugged when i had my clifford alarm fitted.. I have noticed there are around 5 screws holding the dash in at the top near the wheel.. are there any other screws i should be aware off? when the screws are removed will the dash just come off, or is the dash also clipped in?
